The American Heart Associations (AHA) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care issued 2005 and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) issued 2003 both recommend the inducement of hypothermia in the treatment of cardiac arrest and spinal cord victims

“The Cocoon” is the only product available as an effective per hospital product “Hypothermic Device” that will realistically allow EMS providers the ability to treat cardiac arrest and spinal cord injuries with the inducement of hypothermia as recommended by the American Heart Association (AHA) and International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) new guidelines. This treatment can be easily accomplished by simply adding ice or cold packs to the inside of the product in which the patient is wrapped into. The Mylar lining of the Cocoon will retain the cold and effectively lower the patient’s core temperature.
