KillSpikeTM Usage

KillSpikeTM polymerizes to all surfaces and is both colorless and odorless. The solution becomes active within three minutes of application, and starts to work as soon as microorganisms come into contact with the treated surface. It then works continuously to maintain a consistently lower bio-burden than would be expected on a surface without the KillSpikeTM protection.

One application can last for the lifetime of clothing, trauma bags and other materials, and up to three months on hard surfaces. Dirt build-up, paint, dead microbes and hard abrasion etc. can cover the treatment, prohibiting it from killing microorganisms. Therefore, we recommend reapplication on a regular basis.

How KillSpikeTM Works

1. KillSpikeTM forms an almost permanent bond with the surface substrate.

2. A field of carbon spikes protects the surface from microbes.

3. Microbes are drawn to the field of spikes by positively charged nitrogen atoms. 

4. The microbe’s cell wall is ruptured by the carbon spikes.

5. The positive charge of the nitrogen atom delivers a fatal electrical charge to the cell wall of the microbe.
